The Declan Rice UEFA disciplinary warning comes after the England international publicly criticised refereeing decisions that went against Arsenal during the high-stakes encounter in Spain.

Rice expressed frustration over key moments in the match, including a controversial penalty incident involving Eberechi Eze, where referee Danny Makkelie initially awarded a penalty before overturning his decision after consulting with officials.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also questioned the decision, stating that it significantly altered the momentum of both the match and the tie.

Rice further suggested that the intense atmosphere at the Metropolitano Stadium may have influenced officiating decisions, comments that have now drawn UEFA’s attention.

According to reports, European football’s governing body will review the midfielder’s statements to determine whether they breach regulations concerning respect for match officials and the integrity of the game.

While Rice is expected to be available for the second-leg clash at the Emirates Stadium, any potential sanction could extend beyond the semi-final stage and impact his availability for a possible Champions League final should Arsenal progress.
