EFCC arrests 37 fraudsters in Taraba State following a late-night raid in Wukari. The suspects, mostly young men, were picked up from a hideout behind the Federal University, Wukari, on Wednesday, August 27, 2027.

According to the anti-graft agency, operatives from its Makurdi Zonal Directorate acted on credible intelligence that linked the group to internet fraud and cybercrime activities.

The operation led to the recovery of two cars, 12 laptops, and 46 mobile phones, believed to be tools used in their fraudulent schemes.

In a statement released on its official X account, the EFCC confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court after investigations are completed.

This latest crackdown underscores the Commission’s unwavering commitment to tackling cybercrime across Nigeria, particularly in communities close to higher institutions where internet fraud syndicates often recruit and operate.
