EFCC investigations are not political, APC’s Oyintiloye cautions opposition against blackmailing President Tinubu amid corruption probes

EFCC investigations are not political and should not be used as a tool to blackmail President Bola Tinubu, according to All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye.

Speaking in Osogbo, Oyintiloye said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is only carrying out its constitutional mandate by probing petitions against former governors and appointees, regardless of their political affiliations.

He stressed that opposition membership does not grant immunity from scrutiny, noting that ruling party members have also faced investigations when accused of financial infractions.

“The EFCC has a statutory responsibility to investigate financial crimes across party lines without bias. Linking the President to these investigations in the name of politics is totally wrong,” he stated.

Oyintiloye urged opposition figures under probe to focus on proving their innocence instead of politicising the process. He maintained that Tinubu, described as a man of “honour and integrity,” would not compromise his ideals or shield corrupt politicians.

According to him, more politicians attempting to hide under opposition banners to avoid accountability will face arrest as the administration intensifies its anti-graft fight.

“The era of impunity is over. There is no room for graft under the Tinubu administration,” Oyintiloye declared, reinforcing the government’s commitment to justice.
