Falconets Malawi U-20 World Cup qualifier sees coach Moses Aduku vow an attacking approach ahead of the decisive second leg in Lilongwe

Falconets head coach Moses Aduku has insisted that his team will adopt an attacking approach as they prepare for the second leg of their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Malawi.

Falconets vs Malawi U-20 World Cup Qualifier continues on Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, where Nigeria will defend a 2-0 advantage secured in the first leg.

Malawi’s Young Scorchers face a difficult task, needing at least three unanswered goals to overturn the deficit and progress in the competition.

Speaking ahead of the decisive encounter, Aduku ruled out a defensive approach, stressing that his team would look to dominate proceedings from the start.

“We will not go defensive rather we will take the game to them to see if we can get goal and I know my girls can do that,” he said.

He added that he expects the Malawian side to come out more aggressively in front of their home supporters.

“We know the opponent will not sit back, they will come out to play,” Aduku noted.

Falconets, two-time finalists of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, have maintained an impressive qualification record, having featured in every edition of the tournament to date.
