Arsenal Under-18 secured the win through goals from Emerson Nwaneri, younger brother of first-team talent Ethan Nwaneri, and a brace from Alex Marciniak.

Gabriel Arteta Bernal, who plays as a winger unlike his father who was a central midfielder during his career with clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Everton and Arsenal, has already been gradually introduced to competitive youth football.

Before his latest appearance, he was an unused substitute in an Under-18 friendly against Ipswich Town in February and featured for the Under-17 side in a Premier League Cup match against Watford in October.

His progression highlights Arsenal’s continued focus on developing young talent within its academy structure, which has produced several promising players in recent years.

In a related development, Dean Barker, formerly Head of Emerging Talent at Queens Park Rangers Queens Park Rangers, has joined Arsenal’s academy recruitment team.

Barker previously worked as a PE teacher at the school associated with the development of Ethan Nwaneri, who is currently on loan at Marseille, strengthening Arsenal’s expanding youth scouting and development network.
