Galatasaray completes Osimhen transfer fee payment completion after settling €75m Napoli deal, strengthening financial position

Turkish champions Galatasaray have officially concluded their financial commitments to Napoli after completing the final instalment of the €75 million deal for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, marking a significant milestone in the Osimhen transfer fee payment completion process.

The club confirmed that the remaining €17.5 million instalment was settled ahead of schedule, bringing to an end a structured payment agreement that began following the striker’s permanent move in July 2025. The arrangement had initially seen Galatasaray pay €40 million upfront, with the balance split into two further tranches.

According to Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük, the early clearance of the final payment strengthens Galatasaray’s financial position ahead of the upcoming transfer window, removing outstanding liabilities tied to the high-profile signing.

The transfer, valued at €75 million, remains the most expensive incoming deal in Turkish football history, surpassing previous benchmarks and underlining Galatasaray’s ambition in the European market.

The agreement also included a 10 per cent future profit clause in favour of Napoli, as well as a restrictive anti-Italy condition reportedly inserted by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, which would significantly increase the fee should Osimhen join another Serie A club before 2027.

Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli deteriorated following their historic 2022/23 campaign, when he played a decisive role in securing the club’s first Serie A title in 33 years, finishing as league top scorer with 26 goals.

Despite signing a contract extension in December 2023, tensions escalated during a difficult subsequent season, ultimately leading to his loan switch to Istanbul for the 2024/25 campaign.

During that loan spell, the Nigerian forward delivered a sensational return, scoring 37 goals and registering eight assists across all competitions, performances that convinced Galatasaray to pursue a permanent transfer despite prolonged negotiations over payment guarantees.

In his first full permanent season, Osimhen continued his prolific form with 22 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances, helping Galatasaray secure a fourth consecutive Süper Lig title and reach the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

Galatasaray’s decisive settlement of the transfer fee is being viewed internally as a strategic move that improves their negotiating flexibility and financial credibility.

However, the striker’s long-term future remains uncertain amid continued interest from European heavyweights including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
