Ganduje said the development marked a decisive moment for the APC in Kano, stressing that all party aspirants had agreed to support the governor’s second term ambition.

According to him, the Ganduje backs Yusuf 2027 victory stance reflects internal consensus and unity within the party.

He told Yusuf that extensive consultations had already been held with stakeholders, adding that the Ganduje backs Yusuf 2027 victory position was shared by party leaders and members alike.

Governor Yusuf officially rejoined the APC on Monday, January 26, 2026, after resigning from the New Nigeria Peoples Party last week. He had previously been a member of the APC between 2014 and 2018 before leaving for other political platforms.

In his resignation letter to the chairman of Diso Chiranchi Ward of the NNPP in Gwale Local Government Area, Yusuf cited persistent internal crises and the need to protect the broader interests of the people as reasons for his exit.
