Suspected gunmen have abducted Mrs Blessing Adagba, Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ebonyi State

 

Suspected gunmen have abducted Mrs Blessing Adagba, the Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.The Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday in Abakaliki.

Mr Joshua Ukandu, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Police Command in Ebonyi, verified the abduction. “Yes, Mrs Adagba was abducted in the Okposhi Eheku community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area,” he stated.

According to the PPRO, the abduction took place in the early hours of Thursday.

He further disclosed that the police had already initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

“The Anti-Kidnapping Squad has been promptly deployed to secure the release of the victim,” Mr Ukandu assured. “I have confidence that they are working relentlessly to ensure her immediate and safe return.”

The abduction of a high-ranking local government official has raised concerns about security in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area and Ebonyi State as a whole.

Authorities are yet to release details regarding potential motives for the abduction or whether any demands for ransom have been made.

The police have urged members of the public with any relevant information to come forward to assist with their ongoing investigation.
