Haaland Fantasy Premier League Price reaches a record £15.5m as FPL unveils major changes and new features for the 2026-27 season

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has become the most expensive player in Fantasy Premier League history after receiving a record £15.5 million valuation for the 2026-27 season.

The Premier League confirmed the landmark price on Wednesday as it unveiled a series of new features and gameplay updates designed to enhance the fantasy football experience ahead of the new campaign.

The Haaland Fantasy Premier League Price eclipses every previous valuation in the game’s history, underlining the Norwegian’s status as one of the competition’s most influential assets after another prolific season for Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes received the joint-biggest price increase in Fantasy Premier League history, climbing £3 million to £12 million, while Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães is valued at £8 million, becoming only the third defender to reach that figure.

The Premier League also announced that mini-league standings, global rankings, head-to-head fixtures and FPL Cup ties will now update live during matches, giving managers real-time insight into their performance.

Projected bonus points will appear after the opening 20 minutes of each match and continue to update as games progress, while a new Price Change Predictor will use official transfer data to indicate which players are most likely to rise or fall in value.

“The data will always be a guide and doesn’t guarantee a price change,” the Premier League said, adding that managers who follow the predictor can “stay ahead of the curve” in the transfer market.

Managers will also benefit from redesigned squad pages displaying fixture difficulty ratings, player ownership and upcoming opponents more clearly.

Once the season begins, additional information such as recent form and price movement trends will also be available.

Another notable addition allows Fantasy Premier League managers to compare their career record with players around the world through average historical performance and percentile rankings.

The Bonus Points System has also been refined to reduce overlap with defensive contribution points, improving bonus opportunities for goalkeepers, full-backs and attacking players.

In addition, the Gameweek deadline for final score calculations has been moved to 09:00 UK time on the day after the final fixture, allowing more time for Opta’s post-match data review.

Several familiar features remain unchanged. Managers will once again have two sets of Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost chips across the season, while up to five free transfers can still be rolled over.

However, the additional free transfers introduced last season to accommodate the Africa Cup of Nations will not return because the tournament is not scheduled during the 2026-27 campaign.

Fantasy Premier League continues to attract millions of players globally, with annual updates reflecting both tactical trends in football and feedback from managers.

This season’s changes place greater emphasis on live data, improved decision-making tools and a more interactive experience as managers prepare for another fiercely competitive campaign.

It is exceedingly terrible for clubs operating in a league as supremely elite as the English Premier League, EPL, to fraudulently cheat themselves to massive success.

Rules are rules, and supposedly responsible club managements should comply with them in administering a game termed the beautiful game.

Manchester City is currently in the eye of the storm for all the wrong reasons.

A whopping 115 breaches were brought against the club, with reports now indicating that an independent commission found City guilty of 114 of them.

The club, however, maintains that the Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements still to be completed and subject to strict confidentiality.

Manchester City chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, has appealed to the fans to remain calm and faithful, insisting that the club will continue to defend its position and pursue the available legal process.

According to reports, Manchester City is expected to appeal the verdict. The sanctions have not yet been announced, and the possible consequences could include a heavy fine, points deduction, stripping of titles or even relegation.

From the available reporting, however, there is no basis for football fans to start celebrating the prospect of receiving Manchester City’s trophies.

Even if titles were eventually stripped, the relevant period under investigation is 2009 to 2018.

During that period, Manchester City won three Premier League titles, in 2011/12, 2013/14 and 2017/18, as well as three League Cups, in 2013/14, 2015/16 and 2017/18.

That immediately puts a different complexion on the matter.

For instance, Manchester United finished runners-up to City in the 2011/12 and 2017/18 Premier League seasons, while Liverpool finished second in 2013/14.

But whether those titles would actually be reassigned to the runners-up is another matter entirely.

There is no automatic rule that says a stripped title simply moves to the team that finished second. Any such outcome would depend on the eventual sanction imposed by the relevant authorities.

The same applies to Arsenal and the League Cup. Arsenal were beaten by City in the 2018 final, but that does not mean Arsenal would automatically inherit the trophy if City were sanctioned.

Expert opinion has suggested that the eventual punishment could include a substantial financial penalty and a huge points deduction, potentially severe enough to threaten City with relegation.

But until the sanction is formally determined, nobody can say with certainty what punishment Manchester City will receive.

For Gunners fans, therefore, we should lower our expectations from City’s debacle. Even if Manchester City are eventually found guilty after the appeal process and even if they are relegated, Arsenal will not stroll to this season’s title.
