Facing his former side for the first time, Kane—Tottenham’s all-time top scorer with 280 goals—wasted no time making his mark. The England captain opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a cool finish inside the box.

Just minutes later, Kane had the chance to double Bayern’s lead from the penalty spot after a foul by Joao Palhinha, who recently joined Spurs on loan from Bayern.

But in a rare misstep, Kane slipped and fired over, missing a penalty for the first time since England’s 2022 World Cup loss to France.

Bayern dominated the second half, with Kingsley Coman curling in a brilliant goal from outside the box. Teenage talents Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare added late strikes to complete the emphatic win.

Kane joined Bayern in a €100 million move from Spurs in 2023, and Thursday’s game was a powerful reminder of what Tottenham let go. The match served as Bayern’s final tune-up before their UEFA Super Cup clash with PSG next week.
