Hermes Iyele childhood story has moved fans after the reality TV star opened up about the pain, resilience, and love that shaped his early years.

In a deeply personal conversation with Chude Jideonwo, the former BBNaija housemate shared that his late mother walked out on the family for seven years due to financial hardship.

At the time, his father had lost a prestigious job with UNICEF and ended up driving a bus to support the family.

“My father worked with UNICEF and traveled the world but ended up being a bus driver. I don’t know the full story, maybe it was mismanagement of funds,” Hermes said.

As financial pressure mounted, Hermes revealed they were forced to live in an uncompleted building a situation his mother could not accept.

“My mum said she couldn’t move in with us, so she left that night and didn’t come back until seven years later. We were still very young,” he recalled.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Hermes praised his father for raising them with love and teaching them compassion, even for their absent mother.

“My father taught us to love her regardless. I still have love for my mum. Their marriage was not happy, so maybe she made the best choice for herself. I don’t blame her.”
