Ice Prince fear of marriage grows as the rapper opens up about failed unions, wedding costs and his future plans

Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has admitted that he is increasingly hesitant about marriage, saying the number of relationships that break down shortly after weddings has made him cautious about taking the step.

The 39-year-old musician made the remarks during a podcast interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, where he spoke candidly about his views on relationships, marriage and his future ambitions.

According to Ice Prince, witnessing the challenges many couples face after getting married has significantly influenced his perspective.

“These days I get scared of this marriage thing more and more every day because I see people get married and in less than a year they want out,” he said.

The rapper also criticised the financial pressure associated with modern weddings, claiming that some individuals take on debt in a bid to organise lavish ceremonies.

“I see the drama people go through to get married, the stress about borrowing money. My friends are constantly reaching out to me to borrow money to get married and I don’t want to be that person,” he stated.

The Ice Prince Fear of Marriage comments come as discussions around the rising cost of weddings and relationship expectations continue to generate debate among young Nigerians.

Despite his reservations, the artiste did not rule out marriage completely.

Ice Prince said he could reconsider his position after turning 40, noting that some of his role models chose to marry later in life.

“I’m hoping that maybe when I am 40. Some of my mentors got married at that age, somebody like M.I Abaga got married at that age,” he said.

“Maybe when I’m that age I’ll probably be thinking about that. For now I don’t intend to.”

Beyond marriage, the rapper disclosed that he has other personal ambitions he hopes to pursue in the coming years.

He revealed plans to further his education and venture into agriculture, saying those goals currently rank higher on his priority list than releasing new music projects.

“I intend to go to school. I really want to go to school so bad and I’d like to run a farm when I’m that age. I don’t intend to be dropping albums when I’m 40,” he added.
