Jamie Carragher predicts Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will be sacked before Christmas amid mounting pressure and poor results

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has predicted that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will be sacked before Christmas following the club’s poor start to the season.

Amorim is under increasing scrutiny after Manchester United slipped to 10th place on the Premier League table, managing just a handful of wins from their opening seven matches.

Speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, Carragher admitted he doesn’t enjoy calling for managers to lose their jobs but believes Amorim’s position has become “untenable.”

“I don’t like saying a manager should be sacked it is disrespectful and it is a man’s job but I am at that point where I do think Ruben Amorim’s job is untenable,” Carragher said.

He added that Amorim’s record at Old Trafford is among the worst for a Manchester United manager in recent years.

“It is inevitable that this [Amorim’s sacking] is going to happen before Christmas. His stats are unbelievable for a Manchester United manager 50 games as Manchester United manager, he has only scored two more goals than he has conceded.”

The comments come as United fans express growing frustration over the team’s inconsistent performances and lack of attacking edge under the Portuguese tactician.

Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag earlier this year, arrived from Sporting CP with a reputation for tactical innovation but has so far struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

While the club’s hierarchy has yet to make an official statement, pressure is mounting ahead of a tough run of fixtures that could define Amorim’s future at Old Trafford.
