José Mourinho Benfica stay message emerges as the coach says his future depends on the club despite ongoing exit rumours

Benfica manager José Mourinho has stated that his future at the club depends entirely on the wishes of the board, amid growing speculation over a possible summer departure.

Mourinho, who signed a contract with Benfica running until 2027, made the remarks after his side’s 2–0 victory over Nacional on Sunday.

The experienced coach insisted he has no personal conditions attached to his stay at the club, stressing that he is willing to continue as long as Benfica want him.

He described his commitment as unconditional, adding that his desire to remain does not depend on investment decisions or squad demands.

Mourinho’s comments come amid reports linking him with a potential exit, despite his relatively recent appointment at the Portuguese side.

His contract reportedly includes a clause allowing either party to terminate the agreement in May, adding further uncertainty to his long-term future.

The Portuguese tactician, widely regarded as one of football’s most successful managers, has previously coached top European clubs including Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan.
