Kwara State Police released 48 men arrested on suspicion of criminal activities near Oke-Ode after thorough investigations found no incriminating evidence

The Kwara State Police Command has released 48 men who were apprehended on September 4 near Oke-Ode in Ifelodun LGA following suspicions of involvement in criminal activities.

The suspects were intercepted riding in clusters on 14 motorcycles along the Alade–Oreke axis.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated that the arrests followed credible intelligence from the Divisional Police Officer at Oke-Ode.

During the operation, officers recovered 43 mobile phones and other personal belongings from the group.

The suspects underwent detailed criminal intelligence analysis, including digital forensic examinations of their phones to extract call logs, communication trails, transaction history, and geo-location data.

Following exhaustive checks, the police found no evidence linking the individuals to kidnapping, banditry, or organized crime. Consequently, all 48 suspects were released on Monday morning.

SP Ejire-Adeyemi emphasized that the operation respected human rights and investigative protocols, ensuring no innocent individuals were wrongfully criminalized.

She urged the public to remain calm, stay vigilant, and report credible information promptly to security agencies.
