Ademola Lookman has urged Atalanta to bring their Champions League form into Serie A after scoring in a 3–0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt

Ademola Lookman has called on Atalanta to carry their UEFA Champions League momentum into Serie A after their impressive 3–0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles forward, who opened the scoring in the 60th minute, said the performance should serve as a springboard for improvement in the domestic league.

“We need to take this form into the league and climb up the table,” Lookman told UEFA TV. “Tonight’s performance was very positive—good signs—and the team is feeling more confident now with the victory.”

Lookman’s opener was followed by goals from Ederson and Charles de Ketelaere in the 62nd and 65th minutes, sealing a dominant away win for La Dea.

Reflecting on the victory, Lookman added, “Big performance from the team, big result. In the first half we had a few chances and hit the post. Coming out in the second half, we knew we’d create chances again—just had to be patient.”

The win marked Atalanta’s first Champions League triumph under new manager Raffaele Palladino, who replaced Ivan Juric.

The Italian club climbed to 10th in the 36-team competition table, level on points with Borussia Dortmund in sixth, and remain on course for an eighth-place finish.

However, their Serie A form has been far less convincing. Atalanta sit 13th with 13 points and face Fiorentina this weekend, with a win potentially lifting them into the top 10.

Lookman also addressed speculation about tension within the squad following a turbulent summer linked to his future.

“You know, what’s happened has happened. A lot’s gone on. Some things people know, others they don’t,” he told Sky Italia. “Right now is the time to work hard for the team. We need to win games—that’s the most important thing.”

The former African Footballer of the Year is widely expected to leave Bergamo at the end of the season, with Turkish giants Galatasaray reportedly interested in pairing him with compatriot Victor Osimhen.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, manager Palladino has praised Lookman’s attitude and commitment, saying the Nigerian made a strong first impression and is working closely with him to restore Atalanta’s competitive edge.
