Lord’s Achievers Awards 2025 celebrates 12 young changemakers across Nigeria, honouring impact in media, tech, health, arts, and innovation

Lord’s Achievers Awards 2025 celebrates young changemakers, honouring 12 emerging leaders and visionaries across diverse sectors at its seventh edition held at the Monarch Events Centre in Lekki, Lagos.

Themed ‘Icons of Impact’, this year’s event, powered by Lord’s London Dry Gin, recognised excellence, innovation, and social impact in fields such as finance, health, journalism, sports, film, literature, fashion, agriculture, and technology.

A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of the inaugural Lord of the City Award to Ife Durosinmi-Etti, founder of Herconomy.

She made history earlier this year at the Cannes Lions Festival by winning three Silver Lions for a groundbreaking breastmilk financing campaign.

Since its inception, the Lord’s Achievers Awards has celebrated over 70 remarkable Nigerians, including names like Layi Wasabi and Kennedy Ekezie-Joseph, who continue to push boundaries and inspire the next generation.

Speaking at the event, Oluwagbemileke Lawal, Marketing Manager at Nigeria Distilleries Limited, described the awards as more than a ceremony.

“It is an investment in Nigeria’s future,” he said. “This year’s winners embody the courage, creativity and resilience we need to move forward as a nation.”

The awards’ credibility was reinforced by a distinguished jury of respected professionals across media, tech, film, and branding, including Stephanie Busari of CNN, Chuka Obi of Globacom, and Titilope Adesanya of EMPIRE.

The panel also featured representatives from The Influence Agency, the awards’ strategic engagement partner.

Olusegun Akinyemiju, Senior Brand Manager for Lord’s London Dry Gin, said the platform serves to amplify voices of impact.

“True leadership is not about titles but about legacy. Tonight’s honourees reflect the best of that legacy,” he said.

The evening also showcased Nigeria’s creative richness, with live performances from Qing Madi, Seeing Through the Arts, Shoday, Do2dtun, Band Tronic, and Loud Choir, creating a vibrant atmosphere that blended culture with celebration.
