Confirming the incident, Niger State Police Command spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun said a distress call was received around 2am, prompting a patrol team to move to the scene.

“However, the hoodlums escaped before the team’s arrival,” he explained.

According to Abiodun, the suspects fled with a Toyota Corolla bearing registration number LRN 625 LN, along with other items belonging to the victims.

He added that the command had launched a manhunt.
“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover the stolen items,” Abiodun assured.

The robbery has rekindled fears over rising insecurity in the state, especially in Suleja and its environs. It comes almost a year after about 30 armed men stormed a guest house in Minna, the state capital, in a similarly violent attack.

Residents are now urging authorities to step up security around hotels and public spaces to prevent another recurrence.
