Lionel Messi scored twice as Inter Miami overturned a 2-0 deficit to secure a 4-2 victory over Orlando City in Major League Soccer’s Florida derby on Sunday.

Orlando City took control early, with Croatian winger Marco Pasalic opening the scoring in the 18th minute from Ivan Angulo’s cross after Miami lost possession in midfield.

Six minutes later, Argentine striker Martin Ojeda doubled the lead following a surging run and assist from right back Griffin Dorsey.

Miami, reigning MLS champions, rallied after halftime. Substitute Mateo Silvetti struck a stunning 25-yard shot in the 49th minute to reduce the deficit.

Messi then levelled in the 57th minute with a composed finish from the edge of the area.

The comeback was completed late in the match, with Telasco Segovia giving Miami the lead in the 85th minute after a precise Messi pass.

Messi capped the victory in the 90th minute with a low, long-range free-kick that sneaked beneath goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau to make it 4-2.

The result marks Inter Miami’s first win of the MLS season, highlighting Messi’s growing influence in the American league.
