The Egypt forward rejoined his teammates on Tuesday, taking part in a light workout at Liverpool’s training centre following his involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations.

His return has drawn significant attention amid recent tensions surrounding his role at the club.

Salah had made headlines earlier this season after giving a fiery interview in which he accused Liverpool of “throwing him under the bus” following three consecutive games on the bench.

The 33-year-old also claimed at the time that he had no relationship with manager Arne Slot.

Despite the controversy, Salah later featured as a substitute in Liverpool’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Brighton on December 13, where he provided an assist. Slot subsequently insisted the club had moved past the dispute.

Speaking last week, Slot welcomed the winger’s return from international duty, saying he was “happy” to have him back, although he declined to reveal details of their discussions.

The Liverpool boss also said he was uncertain whether Salah would feature in Wednesday’s Champions League fixture away to Marseille.

Liverpool currently sit ninth in the league phase of the Champions League.

The top eight teams qualify automatically for the round of 16, while clubs finishing between ninth and 24th will contest a play-off round.

Salah enjoyed a remarkable campaign last season, scoring 29 league goals to win the Premier League Golden Boot as Liverpool secured a record-equalling 20th English league title.

However, he has struggled for goals this term, managing just four so far.
