Speaking during a podcast with fellow media figure Chude Jideonwo, Nedu highlighted the negative role money plays in social perception, noting that people increasingly respect only those with wealth.

In a snippet shared on his Instagram page, Nedu also pointed out that many women living in Lekki, Lagos, rely on men to pay their rent, implying that financial independence is tied to social credibility.

“You can’t be a role model when you don’t have money in Nigeria. Most women wey dey live for Lekki, na men dey pay their rent,” Nedu said, underscoring the influence of wealth on status and admiration in contemporary Nigerian society.
