NEMA Kano Flood Relief delivers food and essential supplies to affected households, easing hardship for communities hit by recent floods

NEMA Kano Flood Relief has reached households affected by recent flooding in Rimin Gado, Dawakin Tofa, and Tofa Federal Constituency, Kano State.

The initiative, conducted in partnership with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Office of the Hon. Member representing the constituency, delivered essential support to those hardest hit.

During the exercise, affected families received vital food supplies, including rice, maize, beans, vegetable oil, salt, seasoning cubes, and tomatoes, aimed at easing immediate hardship caused by the floods.

A representative of the House of Representatives expressed gratitude for the swift response, noting the intervention would provide much-needed relief.

“Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt thanks to the Federal Government, NEMA, and the Hon. Member for the timely assistance,” the agency reported.

Recipients also prayed for protection from future disasters and pledged to support authorities in disaster risk reduction efforts.

NEMA highlighted that the relief distribution was carried out in an orderly and transparent manner, coordinated with SEMA officials and security agencies.

This initiative forms part of ongoing federal and state efforts to support communities affected by flooding across Kano State.

Similar relief activities have been carried out in other states, including Sokoto, where NEMA partnered with the Nigeria Red Cross Society to assist displaced households at Ramin Kura IDP Camp.
