Nigeria international air show to debut in Abuja December 2025 with global participation, boosting aviation and attracting investors to Nigeria’s air sector

The Nigeria international air show is set to debut in Abuja in December 2025, marking a significant milestone in the country’s aviation history.

The Federal Government made the announcement through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation, Ibrahim Kana, who revealed that strategic collaboration is underway to ensure a world-class event.

Designed to attract global aviation stakeholders, the international air show is expected to feature extensive participation from foreign civil aviation authorities, air traffic controllers, and the Nigerian Air Force.

The selection of Abuja as the venue reflects its central location and strong accessibility, making it ideal for an international showcase of this magnitude.

“The international air show will provide an unparalleled opportunity to spotlight Nigeria’s aviation capabilities and open new investment channels,” Kana stated.

“We are ensuring full coordination with the Ministry of Interior for visa and security arrangements, which are critical to the success of the event.”

The Ministry of Interior has pledged its support, with Permanent Secretary Magdalena Ajani confirming that the online visa system will be optimised to simplify entry procedures for attendees.

This includes a streamlined process to facilitate large group arrivals and reduce delays.

Kemi Nandap, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, stressed the importance of accurate data projections, noting that her agency requires early estimates of international participants to tailor visa processing ahead of the show.

The Nigerian Air Force has also thrown its weight behind the project, with a dedicated technical subcommittee working to ensure all logistical and operational aspects are addressed.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has committed to providing all regulatory support and authorisations required to deliver a safe and seamless event.

The air show will not only highlight Nigeria’s air transport advancements but also position the country as a strategic hub for aviation business in West Africa.

The government sees it as a gateway for international marketers and investors seeking entry into Nigeria’s growing airspace sector.

“The event will attract the global aviation community and reinforce Nigeria’s place on the map of leading aviation nations,” Kana added.

He hinted that President Bola Tinubu may attend, underlining the administration’s dedication to strengthening the industry.
