NiMet weather forecast Nigeria predicts sunshine, cloud patches, and isolated thunderstorms from Tuesday to Thursday. Precautions advised for dust and respiratory health

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a mix of sunshine, cloudiness, and isolated thunderstorms across the country from Tuesday to Thursday.

NiMet’s outlook, released on Monday, predicted sunny skies over the northern region on Tuesday, while the central region is expected to experience few patches of clouds with a hazy atmosphere. Southern Kwara may see isolated thunderstorms later in the day.

The southern region is likely to experience sunny skies with scattered clouds and thunderstorms accompanied by light rains over Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo, Imo, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Rivers States in the afternoon and evening.

On Wednesday, sunny conditions are forecast to continue over the north, with hazy skies over the North Central region.

Southern Kogi, southern Benue, and Kwara may experience isolated thunderstorms and light rains later in the day.

Similar conditions are expected over other southern states, including Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Edo, and Delta.

Thursday’s forecast predicts a sunny northern region with a few clouds and minimal thunderstorms in parts of Kwara State.

The southern region will see isolated thunderstorms with light rains over Bayelsa and Cross River in the afternoon and evening.

NiMet advised that dust particles are currently in suspension and recommended precautions for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution during rains, and airline operators should obtain airport-specific weather updates from NiMet.
