The Northern Nigeria Youths Union (NNYU) has vowed to deliver two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 General Elections, citing his commitment to infrastructure development in the North
In a significant display of support, the Northern Nigeria Youths Union (NNYU) has publicly pledged to secure a substantial two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 General Elections.
Speaking after a high-level strategic meeting held in Jos, Plateau State, the Chairman of the NNYU, Hon. Abubakar Aliyu, who also holds the traditional title of Galadiman Takai, made the bold announcement. He described the union’s commitment as “unshakeable and rooted in patriotism.”
“This declaration follows a massive convergence of passionate Northern youths – both male and female – united by one cause: the continued leadership of Tinubu,” Aliyu declared in a strong statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Hon. Aliyu attributed the union’s strong support to President Tinubu’s “unrelenting commitment” to infrastructure and national development, with a particular emphasis on projects in the Northern region.
He specifically highlighted the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano superhighway as a flagship project, stating, “It’s a three-lane marvel on each side. That road alone is a symbol of hope, progress, and a better tomorrow for the North and beyond.”
Furthermore, Aliyu pointed to the perceived positive impact on the prices of food and fuel during the recent Ramadan period, describing it as a “miraculous crash.”
He asserted, “The impact was clear to every Nigerian. For once, the markets breathed. The people felt relief. And they know who made that happen.”
The NNYU claims to have over 65,000 registered members across the 19 Northern states, encompassing both Muslim and Christian youths. The group insists that its mobilisation efforts are driven solely by volunteerism and a strong sense of national pride.
“We didn’t collect a kobo from anyone. This is pure patriotism. We are the people, and we will mobilise voters en masse. The 2027 votes will shock the doubters,” Aliyu confidently stated.
He added that the group’s primary focus will be on ensuring that thousands more young people are registered and possess valid voter cards before the upcoming elections.
In a direct appeal to the President, Hon. Aliyu urged Tinubu to exercise close oversight over his appointees to ensure effective governance and accountability.
“Let those in government know they are there to serve, not to squander. The people deserve to feel the presence of government at all levels,” he stated.
This strong declaration of support from the Northern Nigeria Youths Union could potentially shift the political landscape in the North and provide a significant electoral advantage for President Tinubu as the 2027 elections approach.
