Obidient Movement backs George Moghalu as Labour Party’s candidate for Anambra governorship election with Peter Obi’s endorsement

The announcement was made in a statement by Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, who praised Moghalu as a “relentless warrior for the voiceless masses” in a state long plagued by poor governance and entrenched interests.

Tanko disclosed that Moghalu also enjoys the backing of Labour Party’s former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, further strengthening his candidacy ahead of the polls.

Declaring “absolute and thunderous endorsement” of Moghalu, the statement projected confidence in the Labour Party’s chances of victory.

It noted that Anambra, with 2.8 million registered voters spread across 5,894 polling units in 323 wards, was poised to deliver a landslide win for the party.

“In our meetings, I witnessed firsthand the fire in his soul, a fierce, unapologetic commitment to empathy, accountability, and people-centred governance that echoes the very essence of what Anambra deserves and Nigeria demands,” Tanko said.

The Obidient Movement emphasised that its members, alongside Labour Party faithful, would unite behind Moghalu as one “unbreakable army” under the inspiration of Obi.

It expressed confidence that his candidacy represents a turning point in Anambra politics, promising a “roar of a new dawn” against decades of failed leadership.
