Ogun Amotekun operatives raided a sex trafficking camp in Ifo, arresting 16 suspects, including a 60-year-old hotel owner. Victims were trafficked from Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta States

 

The **Ogun State Amotekun Corps** has **raided a major sex trafficking syndicate** in **Ifo Local Government Area**, leading to the **arrest of 16 suspects** at **Railway Line Hotel, Old Bank Road**. The victims, aged **12 to 29**, were **trafficked from Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta States**.

According to **Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (retd.), Ogun Amotekun Commandant**, the operation was conducted following an **intelligence report received on February 8**. The **ring leader, Eden Joy**, admitted that she worked for the **hotel owner, Okutoro Yemisi, 60**, who allegedly controlled the illicit trade.

 

Recovered items included:
– **₦819,600 in cash**
– **Drugs and energy enhancers**
– **A carton of condoms and lubricants**
– **Used tissue papers allegedly kept for rituals**

Victims revealed they were forced to take **oaths while naked**, had their **hair cut for rituals**, and were threatened with **death if they attempted to escape**.

*”We were told we would be salesgirls, but upon arrival, we were forced into prostitution. They took our hair and made us swear an oath naked.”* – Rescued Victim

Adedigba **warned against patronising trafficked individuals**, cautioning that **clients’ used tissue papers were collected for unknown rituals**. He reiterated the **state’s zero tolerance for lawlessness**.

The suspects have been handed over to the **National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation**.
