Ogun police arrest Gafaru Rasaki for exhuming graves and possessing four human heads, highlighting law enforcement’s commitment to public safety

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Gafaru Rasaki for allegedly exhuming human remains from a cemetery in Sagamu and being found in possession of four human heads.

The arrest was made on January 21, 2026, by operatives of the Shakura Police Division, police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed in a statement on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Abeokuta.

Upon interrogation, Rasaki reportedly admitted to unlawfully exhuming the remains from the cemetery.

DSP Babaseyi described the act as a serious violation of the law and a flagrant disregard for human dignity.

The seized human remains were secured as evidence, and Rasaki is expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The police spokesperson reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting public safety, warning that anyone involved in the desecration of human remains would face the full weight of the law.
