Ogun Police nab Lowe after he was caught fleeing with his wife’s corpse tied to a motorcycle in a shocking murder case

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspected killer, Godonu Lowe, after Ogun Police nab Lowe while he was attempting to flee Omolende village with the corpse of his wife hidden inside a sack strapped to a motorcycle.

The disturbing incident occurred on Wednesday and was swiftly intercepted following an intelligence alert.

According to the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, the Divisional Police Officer in Ilaro received credible information that a fleeing suspect was transporting a dead woman in suspicious circumstances.

Officers immediately mounted surveillance and apprehended Lowe before he could escape.

When the sack on his motorcycle was opened, the body of an adult female, later confirmed to be his wife, was discovered.

Police reported visible marks of violence and bleeding around her neck, prompting investigators to suspect foul play. A blood-stained cutlass was later recovered from the scene, further strengthening the case.

The suspect is now in custody, and the victim’s remains have been deposited at the State Morgue in Ilaro for autopsy. The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, praised the anonymous informant whose timely tip-off allowed operatives to prevent the suspect’s escape.

He encouraged residents to continue sharing credible information, noting that early reports often make a decisive difference.

The case comes amid recent concerns over rising domestic violence nationwide. In February, Lagos Police arrested a 23-year-old man, Gbolahan Adebayo, for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death during a visit to his home in Ijedodo.
