The 43rd Olubadan, who died on July 7 at age 90—just five days shy of his first coronation anniversary—will be laid to rest following a funeral service at the Cathedral of Saint Peters, Aremo.

Events began Monday with preliminaries of a table tennis tournament, followed by football and table tennis finals midweek, and a service of songs at the Olubadan Palace on Thursday.

In his honour, the Olakulehin Royal Family will present a book, How Not to Be a King, at the University of Ibadan’s International Conference Centre. The book, originally planned for his birthday, chronicles his life and leadership.
