Ogunbolude said the gesture was aimed at boosting security surveillance in local communities following past attacks by armed assailants that claimed over 20 lives in four Ala-Elefosan communities, including Pastor Camp, Sunday Village, Ademekun Camp, and Alajido Camp.

“This initiative aligns with strategic measures to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s drive to secure lives and property across Ondo State,” Ogunbolude said. “The vehicles will enhance rapid response, intelligence gathering, and monitoring of rural settlements.”

The chairman emphasised the critical role traditional rulers play in intelligence collection, peacebuilding, and local vigilance. He noted that the improved mobility provided by the vehicles would allow monarchs to work more closely with security agencies to prevent future attacks.

“Protecting vulnerable groups helps sustain community harmony and reduces socio-economic stress linked to insecurity,” he added, highlighting the council’s broader commitment to welfare and security.
