Osimhen Galatasaray Juventus clash ends 5-2 as Victor Osimhen delivers two assists to stun Luciano Spalletti’s side in Istanbul

Victor Osimhen produced a commanding creative display as Galatasaray overwhelmed Juventus 5-2 in a pulsating Champions League play off first leg, handing Luciano Spalletti his first defeat in the competition with the Italian club.

The Osimhen Galatasaray Juventus encounter delivered drama and precision in equal measure, with the Nigeria striker central to the hosts’ attacking dominance despite failing to score.

Although Osimhen has now gone two consecutive matches without finding the net, he has provided two assists in each fixture as Galatasaray scored 10 goals across those games.

Galatasaray, appearing in the knockout rounds for the first time since the 2013 to 2014 season, started on the front foot.

Gabriel Sara opened the scoring after Kenan Yildiz lost possession in a dangerous area.

Juventus responded swiftly through Teun Koopmeiners, who converted from close range after Pierre Kalulu’s header was parried.

Koopmeiners struck again before the interval, combining with Weston McKennie before finishing into the top corner to give the visitors a 2-1 half time lead.

Osimhen had already threatened, volleying over the bar and forcing Michele Di Gregorio into a low save.

The forward also directed a header towards the bottom corner, testing the goalkeeper’s alertness.

The momentum shifted decisively after the break. Noa Lang equalised when Di Gregorio pushed Baris Alper Yilmaz’s effort into his path.

Davinson Sanchez then bundled in from a free kick to restore Galatasaray’s lead.

Juventus suffered a further setback when Juan Cabal received a second booking with more than 20 minutes remaining. Galatasaray capitalised with ruthless efficiency.

Osimhen pressed sharply to intercept a loose pass and slipped the ball into Lang’s path for a simple finish that made it 4-2.

In the 86th minute, Victor Osimhen turned provider again, setting up substitute Sacha Boey inside the penalty area. Boey finished calmly to seal an emphatic victory.

Beyond the assists, Osimhen’s movement unsettled the Juventus defence throughout.

His relentless pressing forced hurried clearances and costly errors, underlining his immense influence.

The result gives Okan Buruk’s side a powerful advantage heading into the return leg in Turin.
