According to Fotomac, the Istanbul-based club are keen on securing the services of Lookman from Atlético Madrid, where he only recently arrived in a €35 million deal during the January transfer window.

The Turkish champions are said to view Osimhen’s relationship with Lookman as a potential advantage in their pursuit, as they explore informal ways to influence the transfer decision.

Lookman has impressed since joining Atlético Madrid, registering five goals and four assists in 24 appearances, and quickly establishing himself as an important attacking option.

His performances have strengthened Atlético’s reluctance to consider any sale, especially given the instability already surrounding their attacking department.

The Spanish club have already dealt with the departure of Antoine Griezmann, while the futures of Julian Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth remain uncertain.

Atlético Madrid are therefore expected to resist any approach for Lookman, viewing him as part of their long-term plans despite Galatasaray’s interest.

Galatasaray’s strategy highlights the growing ambition of the Turkish champions in the transfer market as they attempt to strengthen their squad with high-profile attacking talent.
