Oyo State aviation embraces growth as Governor Makinde hosts Women in Aviation International Conference to inspire and empower women

Oyo State aviation takes centre stage as Governor Seyi Makinde hosts Women in Aviation International Conference in Ibadan.

Governor Makinde, represented by his Deputy, Bayo Lawal, welcomed the organisation to the Western Hall, Parliament Building, Secretariat, Agodi, praising women for their contributions to the sector.

The conference, themed “Connect, Engage, Inspire,” runs from November 4 to 7, 2025.

Highlighting the role of women in enhancing transportation and breaking industry barriers, Makinde said their professionalism has shaped the future of aviation in Nigeria.

“The aviation industry is not local; it is international. What a man can do, a woman can do better,” he noted.

Makinde reiterated the administration’s commitment to upgrading Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport to international status, aiming to make Oyo State a hub for global air travel.

“Your presence here adds value to our administration. Oyo State is ready to collaborate with the International Women in Aviation Conference,” he added.

Rejoice Ndudinachi, President of the organisation, thanked the governor and pledged continued engagement to empower women and girls through mentorship, training, scholarships, and professional development in aviation and aerospace.

The conference drew notable government officials, including Commissioners for Lands, Trade, Works, and Information, reflecting Oyo State’s dedication to fostering aviation growth and educational opportunities for young women.
