The integration, announced in a statement to The PUNCH on Sunday, expands access to card-based payment services by embedding the request process within PalmPay, a widely used digital wallet for transfers, bill payments, and other financial transactions.

AfriGO, launched by the Central Bank of Nigeria in collaboration with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, aims to deepen financial inclusion, reduce transaction costs, and enhance payment efficiency as Nigeria transitions to a digital economy.

The move combines digital convenience with physical support.

Customers can apply for AfriGO cards through the app, visit PalmPay customer experience centres, or engage any of the company’s 500,000 agents nationwide for guidance.

AfriGO Managing Director Ebehijie Momoh said the initiative aligns with the scheme’s goal of creating a payment ecosystem tailored to Nigeria’s domestic needs.
