The legendary Arsenal Invincibles comparison was made during an interview in which Vieira reflected on the current strength of Mikel Arteta’s team alongside Arsène Wenger’s unbeaten side.

Arsenal’s iconic 2003/04 team remains the only Premier League squad to complete an entire season without defeat, recording 26 wins and 12 draws to finish on 90 points and secure the league title.

Vieira identified David Raya, Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Magalhães, Bukayo Saka, and Declan Rice as modern-day players he believes could have featured in the historic squad.

According to him, goalkeeper David Raya would replace Jens Lehmann, while Jurrien Timber would slot in at right-back due to his versatility and defensive intelligence.

In central defence, Vieira suggested Gabriel Magalhães would take the place of Kolo Touré alongside Sol Campbell, while Bukayo Saka would replace Freddie Ljungberg on the right wing.

He also highlighted Declan Rice as a strong replacement for Gilberto Silva, while maintaining that attacking legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Robert Pirès would remain untouched in the side.
