In an interview with ESPN Brasil, the 54-year-old Spaniard confirmed his plans, marking the end of his longest managerial stint to date, having spent nine years at the Etihad Stadium.

While Guardiola is certain about taking a hiatus, he remains unsure whether this break will lead to permanent retirement from coaching.

His illustrious career includes previous spells at Barcelona (four years) and Bayern Munich (three years), establishing him as one of the most influential figures in modern football.

Reflecting on his legacy, Guardiola stated, “I want people to remember me however they want… All coaches want to win so we can have a memorable job, but I believe that the fans of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and City had fun watching my teams play. I don’t think we should ever live thinking about whether we’re going to be remembered.”

Guardiola signed a two-year contract extension with Manchester City last year, securing his position at the club until 2027. His announcement will undoubtedly spark speculation about his next career move and the future leadership of the reigning Premier League champions.
