PFN Condemns Jos Killings, urging security agencies to act swiftly after deadly Anguwan Rukuba attack leaves many dead and injured

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has strongly condemned the recent killings in the Anguwan Rukuba area of Jos city, where about 27 people were reportedly killed and several others injured in a violent attack that has deepened concerns over security in the region.

In a statement issued by Bishop David Bakare, National Secretary of the PFN, the Christian organisation described the incident as horrific and unacceptable, stressing that the loss of innocent lives represents a grave tragedy for affected families and the wider Plateau State community.

Bishop David Bakare expressed deep sorrow over the attack, noting that it serves as a stark reminder of the fragile peace that must be protected.

He warned that Plateau State must not relapse into a cycle of violence and fear, recalling its history of recurring unrest.

The PFN emphasised that no grievance can justify the taking of human life, describing the act as barbaric and a direct assault on the sanctity of life.

The statement called for immediate and decisive intervention from security agencies to apprehend those responsible and ensure they face justice.

According to Bishop David Bakare, the boldness of the attackers in striking within a residential area raises serious concerns that must be addressed through a coordinated and sustained security response.

He stressed that restoring public confidence requires visible and effective action from authorities.

The fellowship also urged community leaders, stakeholders, and residents to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with law enforcement agencies.

It cautioned against any actions that could inflame tensions or lead to reprisal attacks, highlighting the importance of unity during this period of grief.

In its concluding remarks, the PFN reaffirmed its solidarity with victims and their families, offering prayers and support while calling for collective efforts to ensure lasting peace, security, and justice across Plateau State and beyond.
