Benue Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia approves one-week Easter holiday for civil servants, with essential services to remain operational

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has approved a one-week Easter holiday for all civil servants, directing that workers close early on Tuesday, March 31, to mark the start of the festivities.

The directive, issued through a statement by the Permanent Secretary of General Services, Godwin Tighil, instructed that work end at 1pm, allowing government employees ample time to participate in Easter celebrations.

Governor Alia emphasised that workers providing essential services were expected to remain at their posts to attend to urgent public needs during the holiday period, ensuring continuity of critical services.

Normal official duties are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, April 8, following the conclusion of the holiday.

In his message, Governor Alia extended Easter greetings to the people of Benue State, wishing them a peaceful and joyful celebration.

He urged residents to reflect on the spiritual significance of Easter, highlighting the values of sacrifice, love, and hope.
