Nigerian police arrest 20 suspects and recover arms in a raid on a Taraba State hideout, reaffirming their commitment to public safety

 

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 20 suspects and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition following a successful raid on a criminal hideout in Taraba State.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday at the Wamunchi dry season rice farms, was based on credible intelligence, police confirmed.

Details of the raid were shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, revealing that the police seized an assortment of weapons, including one AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of live ammunition, three Dane guns, a bow and arrow, and a motorcycle.

A police spokesperson confirmed that all 20 suspects, identified as male, are currently in custody and undergoing profiling.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

Commending the officers for their swift and decisive action, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) assured residents of Taraba and beyond that the force remains dedicated to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring public safety.
