Plateau State Police arrest two more suspects linked to the Jos abduction attempt, recovering a stolen AK-47 rifle and 75 rounds of ammunition

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested two additional suspects connected to Tuesday’s botched abduction on Little Rayfield Road, Jos, which claimed the lives of two police officers.

The suspects, identified as Abubakar Mohammed and Ahmed Musa, were found in possession of the AK-47 rifle stolen from the slain officers during the attack.

An additional 75 rounds of live ammunition were also recovered, according to a statement released on Friday by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Alabo Alfred.

“Following the attempted kidnapping on Little Rayfield Road, Jos, where two of our officers were killed in a gun battle and an AK-47 rifle was stolen, we have now arrested two more suspects, bringing the total to six. The stolen weapon has been recovered along with 75 rounds of live ammunition,” the statement confirmed.

This latest development brings the total number of arrests related to the incident to six, as police continue their search for other members of the criminal syndicate involved.

The police reassured the public of their dedication to eliminating criminal activity and maintaining peace in the state.

They urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the Plateau State Police Control Room or the Complaint Response Unit (CRU).
