Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, shared the update during a meeting with students in the UK, held alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, was also present.

The Presidential Amnesty Programme, launched in 2009 by former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, was initially designed to reduce violence in the Niger Delta by disarming and rehabilitating militants. Over time, it has expanded to include education, skills acquisition, and empowerment initiatives.
