PSG defeat Liverpool 2-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg as Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia score in Paris

Paris Saint-Germain took control of their Champions League quarter-final tie with a 2-0 victory over Liverpool in Paris on Wednesday night.

The defending champions delivered a strong first-leg performance at the Parc des Princes, with Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia getting on the scoresheet.

Doue opened the scoring with a deflected effort that looped over Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili to give PSG the lead.

Kvaratskhelia then doubled the advantage with a composed finish, putting Luis Enrique’s side in a commanding position ahead of the return leg.

Liverpool struggled to break down PSG’s organised defence and now face a difficult task at Anfield next week.
