Mawazine Festival organisers confirm Nigerian star Rema will perform at the 2026 edition in Rabat, Morocco

Nigerian music star Rema has been announced among the international artistes set to perform at the 2026 edition of the Mawazine Festival in Rabat, Morocco.

Organisers of the globally recognised music festival confirmed that the 21st edition of the event will run from June 19 to 27, featuring performances from leading international and regional artistes across multiple genres.

According to Maroc Cultures, the organisation behind the festival, Rema will headline the prestigious OLM Souissi Stage on June 24.

The announcement adds another major international appearance to the Nigerian singer’s rapidly expanding global profile as Afrobeats continues to gain wider international recognition.

The Mawazine Festival is regarded as one of the largest music festivals in the world, hosting more than 90 acts across seven stages spread across Rabat and neighbouring cities, including Salé.

Festival organisers said the event attracts more than 3.75 million visitors annually, making it one of Africa’s most influential cultural and entertainment gatherings.

Concerts, exhibitions and several cultural activities are expected to take place throughout the festival period, transforming Morocco’s capital into a vibrant entertainment hub.

Known for its electrifying atmosphere and massive crowds, the festival regularly features some of the biggest names in global music alongside celebrated African and Middle Eastern performers.
