Rivers United NPFL title race confidence grows as manager Festus Austine backs team to win league title on final day against Katsina United

Team manager, Festus Austine, has expressed strong confidence that the club will emerge champions of the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, as the season reaches its decisive final day.

Rivers united remains confident in NPFL title battle comes ahead of their crucial final fixture against Katsina United, scheduled to take place at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt next week.

Austine said the team remains focused despite the pressure of the title race and urged supporters to turn out in large numbers to inspire the players to victory.

“It’s been a difficult week, I know we are going to get it right in the game against Katsina United,” he said.

“Come to the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and cheer us to glory, I know we are going to be crowned the champions.”

Rivers United currently trail league leaders Rangers by one point going into the final matchday, setting up a tense finish to the season.

For Rivers United to lift the NPFL title, they must secure victory against Katsina United and hope that Rangers drop points against Ikorodu City.
