Speaking at the refurbished and expanded Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Soludo highlighted his administration’s achievements, including tackling insecurity, dismantling 64 criminal camps, ending the debilitating Monday sit-at-home culture, and investing in urban regeneration projects such as the Ekwulobia flyover and the new government house.

“Four years ago, we started working immediately in Okpoko, the largest urban slum in Nigeria. Barely three years in office, we have delivered over 90 percent of our manifesto,” Soludo said. “Many of the projects we delivered were not even in our manifesto. We are proud that the people call us ‘Oluatuegwu’, the man who does not fear work.”

He also noted efforts to enhance the state’s livability, including building a leisure and entertainment centre, while urging political opponents to join hands for the state’s continued development.

On the national stage, Soludo stated his support for Igbo representation in Nigeria’s presidency but acknowledged that the timing for such a move is not yet right.
