Nigerian military arrests Sule Yellow, TikTok bandit promoter, after ransom collection. His account @suleyellow6 has been disabled

The Nigerian military has apprehended a suspected bandit known as Sule Yellow, who allegedly used the TikTok handle @suleyellow6 to promote terrorist activities.

According to reports from @mobilisingniger on X, Sule Yellow was arrested shortly after collecting a ransom from the family of a kidnapped victim.

Before his arrest, Sule Yellow frequently showcased bandit activities on TikTok and appeared on livestreams, including one on March 4 alongside another suspected bandit identified as Auta and others.

Security operatives reportedly tracked his online activities before moving in to detain him. Following the arrest, authorities disabled the TikTok account linked to him to curb further promotion of criminal activity.

“The Nigerian Military arrests a notorious bandit Sule Yellow after collecting ransom payment from the victim’s family,” the post stated. “The security forces have since disabled his account after the arrest was made.”

The arrest highlights the increasing role of social media in facilitating criminal activities and the efforts of Nigerian security forces to monitor and prevent online promotion of banditry.
