Terem Moffi and Jeremie Boga are seeking moves from OGC Nice following a fan ambush, with Ligue 1 and Serie A clubs reportedly interested

OGC Nice players Terem Moffi and Jeremie Boga are reportedly seeking transfers after a violent ambush by around 400 fans at the club’s training ground, following their 3-1 Ligue 1 defeat to Lorient in late November.

The Nigerian striker and the Ivory Coast midfielder were physically assaulted and spat on, prompting Moffi to take sick leave and miss Thursday’s UEFA Europa League fixture against Sporting Braga.

The club confirmed that both players continue to suffer physical and psychological consequences that hinder their participation.

Nice issued a statement condemning the attack “in the strongest terms,” emphasising that multiple players and officials, including Florian Maurice and Jonathan Clauss, were targeted.

“Contrary to what has been claimed, several of our players and officials were directly subjected to physical (multiple spitting and hitting) and verbal abuse,” the statement read.

Reports indicate that multiple Ligue 1 clubs have expressed interest in Moffi ahead of the January transfer window. Boga’s agents are also in contact with Serie A sides AS Roma, Fiorentina, and Napoli regarding a potential move.

Sources suggest Moffi was singled out after being seen joking with Lorient president Loic Fery following the defeat.
