Oba Adetona was laid to rest on 14 July at Ogbagba Court, after a widely attended burial. His legacy includes transforming the Ojude Oba festival into an international event and supporting academic advancement through the Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona School of Governance Studies at Olabisi Onabanjo University.

Reacting to his death, Tinubu said, “He was more than a monarch; he was a confidant and a voice of reason during tough national moments.”

Oba Adetona’s death, close to that of former President Muhammadu Buhari, marked a moment of reflection for many Nigerians.
