President Bola Tinubu congratulates Muslims on Eid-el-Fitr, urging them to uphold piety, compassion, and unity while supporting the less privileged

President Bola Tinubu has extended warm greetings to Muslims across the country on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, calling on the faithful to uphold the values of piety, compassion, and unity beyond the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged Nigerian Muslims to rededicate themselves to the noble teachings of Ramadan, which emphasize empathy, selflessness, and solidarity with fellow citizens.

“We have a lot to draw from the noble lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period,” Tinubu said.

He also encouraged acts of kindness toward the less privileged, stressing that such gestures should transcend religious boundaries as a demonstration of unity and camaraderie.

Furthermore, the President called on Muslim leaders to offer prayers for peace, prosperity, and national cohesion.

Earlier reports indicated that, in support of citizens during the fasting period, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by Hope Uzodinma, distributed rice nationwide.

The initiative was designed to foster national unity and demonstrate compassion during a season of spiritual significance.

“Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another,” Uzodinma said, highlighting the President’s commitment to promoting unity and social welfare across religious communities.
